Kate Daugherty (2021 cohort) is helping advance trauma-informed nursing education through Project TINES, a SAMHSA-funded initiative at Jefferson College of Nursing. The project equips nursing students, faculty, and practicing nurses with training and resources to better recognize, assess, and treat substance use disorders while providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Nurses who complete the training may be eligible to receive Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credit. By strengthening nursing education and clinical training, Project TINES is helping expand the workforce prepared to provide evidence-based substance use care, particularly in underserved communities.
