Shadelle Yancey, BA

Operations & Logistics Coordinator

Shadelle Yancey is an Institute Associate working with the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity and the Beyond Flexner Alliance at the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity. She provides operational and logistical support for both programs. She holds a BA in Global Public Health from the University of Virginia. Shadelle has several years of research experience ranging from community engagement to public health emergency preparedness.

Her interests are primarily focused on improving access to physical education, sexual education, financial literacy, art and literature, and proper nutrition for minorities, women, and children to create safe and prosperous communities. She is particularly interested in examining institutional policies that will support building resilient and self-sufficient communities. In addition, Shadelle is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and is dedicated to activating Black communities through physical wellness to reduce the significant health disparities prevalent among this population.
