Dr. Jan Aura Laurelle Llevado is the Chief of the Cancer Control and Mental Health Divisions in the Department of Health. She leads the Secretariat of the National Integrated Cancer Control Council and the Philippine Council for Mental Health.

Her career in public health started when she served as a doctor to the Barrio in a far-flung island municipality in the Philippines. Since then, she has been an advocate of reproductive and sexual health and rights believing that every woman, girl, and man has rights and responsibilities of their own bodies.

Jan joined the Department of Health in 2019, and led the National Family Planning Program. She worked with various agencies and civil society organizations in responding to the unmet needs of women and girls for reproductive health.

Jan was a recipient of the PinoyMD medicine scholarship program of the Department of Health. She completed her master’s degree in public management focused on health systems and development.
