Selam Bedada brings over twelve years of leadership experience in public health research and health systems transformation, with a strong focus on policies and programs aimed at addressing the health risks of vulnerable populations. She is a graduate of The George Washington University Elliott School, where she was a GW Presidential Administrative Fellow, and holds a MPH from the Milken Institute School of Public Health.

These dynamic changemakers hail from Ethiopia, India, Iraq, Malawi, Malaysia, South Africa, Switzerland, Uganda, the United Kingdom and the United States, bringing with them a wealth of experience across Community Engagement, Disability and Accessibility, Engineering, Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response, Maternal and Child Health, Nursing, Population Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Transgender Health and other health equity topic and issue areas.

Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity (AFHE) earned the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation Award for Program Excellence for outstanding leadership in promoting social mission in health professions education.

Comprised of four graduated fellows serving one-year terms, SFAB works closely with the AFHE Senior Fellow Engagement Team to build a vibrant and connected community of Senior Fellows.
