Aastha Sethi is a Senior Officer, Policy and Advocacy (Rights) for United for Global Mental Health where she is leading a project on global suicide decriminalization. She has over six years of experience working in suicide prevention, policy change, and mental health advocacy. She led a project on a pesticide suicide prevention in India, working with regional partners to advocate for pesticide bans to reduce suicide mortality.Aastha was selected as a Chief Minister's Fellow in Maharashtra, working with senior government executives to drive policy change. As a fellow and strategy consultant for the state, she supported the health department in identifying crucial gaps in mental health programs.
Aastha was also selected as a Future Leaders Connect Fellow (2021) by the British Council. Aastha holds a B.A. (Honors) in Psychology from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, and a Master’s in Development Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
