Bio

Belaynew Adugna is a lecturer and pioneer of the undergraduate physiotherapy program at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. He is the owner of Bahir Dar Physiotherapy Specialty Clinic — the only private physiotherapy clinic in the region — and the founder of One Love Day Service Center, a non-profit therapeutic center for profoundly disabled children.  Belaynew is an executive member and regional delegate of the Ethiopian Physiotherapy Association and a member of the education committee of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT). He is researching and leading projects that are targeted to address the health needs of his community through the integration of indigenous knowledge and local wisdom with scientific bases. He is passionate to fight life-limiting disparities and combat unfairness and inequity of rehabilitation services in Ethiopia.
