Lucas McKinnon is a public health practitioner and coalition leader advancing health equity through community-driven food systems and nutrition interventions. As Managing Director of the Hawaiʻi Good Food Alliance, he leads the development of locally sourced Food is Medicine programs, facilitates a statewide community of practice, and coordinates continuing medical education (CME) initiatives to integrate culturally relevant agriculture into patient care. Previously, Lucas managed a multimillion-dollar portfolio of federal food security investments for the City and County of Honolulu and directed entrepreneurship and farm support programs for immigrant and trafficked farmers from Southeast Asia at Pacific Gateway Center. He holds an MPH from NYU and is pursuing a DrPH at Johns Hopkins as a Bloomberg American Health Initiative Fellow in Food Systems for Health, focusing on dismantling structural inequities through innovative programming, policy, and coalition building.
