Bio

Neo Hutiri is an engineer turned social entrepreneur, chasing purpose, meaning, and impact. He is the founder of Technovera Pty/Pelebox NPC, a social venture developing innovative solutions in the public healthcare space to enhance access and equity. Recognizing that over 4.5 million man-hours are lost per month due to patients spending hours on queues at primary healthcare facilities in South Africa, Neo invented Pelebox, a solution that enables patients to collect repeat medication in seconds instead of waiting hours. Neo’s work is at the intersections of Social Entrepreneurship, Digital Technology in Healthcare, and Delivering Impact at Scale.

Neo has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, an MEng in Industrial Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand and an MPhil in Inclusive Innovation. Time Magazine featured Pelebox Smart Lockers as one of the Best 100 Inventions of 2019, and the innovation also won the prestigious Africa Prize.
