Geminn Louis Apostol (2023 cohort) led research on arsenic contamination in Batangas, Philippines, as part of his AFHE health equity project. His work went beyond identifying the problem, developing risk communication programs and materials to help communities understand the health risks and protect themselves. The project received a 2023 Healthy Pilipinas Award, a national honor for health promotion in the Philippines.
