Amit “Mickey” Dhir is an infectious disease nurse practitioner, implementation scientist and health equity leader whose work bridges clinical care, research and policy. He provides HIV prevention, HIV treatment, sexual health, viral hepatitis, gender-affirming, and primary care services while leading initiatives to improve equitable access to prevention. His research focuses on implementation science and the structural factors that influence engagement in healthcare, translating evidence into practical, community-informed solutions.

Mickey also serves as Commissioner and Chair of the Health & Wellness Committee for the Maryland Commission on LGBTQIA+ Affairs, where he collaborates with community leaders, healthcare organizations, and policymakers to advance equitable health policy. His long-term goal is to develop scalable models of prevention and healthcare delivery that strengthen health systems and improve health equity locally and globally.
