Bio
Dr. Angela Echiverri is Core Faculty - Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Antiracism at the Contra Costa Family Medicine Residency and a Family Medicine Physician practicing in Richmond, CA. As a first-generation queer woman of color, her spirit of justice and roots in equity originated from her parents’ sacrifices as Filipino immigrants.She is passionate about cultivating transformative change around DEIA, collaborating with community partners to strengthen health career pathways, and recruiting and retaining diverse leaders in community medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA and MPH degree at Johns Hopkins, graduated from the UCSF School of Medicine, completed residency at UCSF/San Francisco General Hospital. Overall, these experiences connect her passion for community health, inspire her work towards antiracism, and strengthen her movement building towards equity and justice.
