Bio

Claire Thomas is an Economic Development Coordinator for the East Side Neighborhood Company. In this role, she works with community members to design and implement innovative solutions for more inclusive economic systems for BIPOC-owned small businesses and equitable community development. Claire’s political activism in St. Louis, MO and Minneapolis, MN has deeply shaped her professional passion to address and transform the interconnected, oppressive systems that contribute to economic and health disparities. In her previous work at Beyond Housing in St. Louis, MO, she planned and executed the launch of the 24:1 Small Business Network. This network enables small business owners to connect to resources, navigate complex public processes, and bridge the racial gap in accessing networking spaces. Claire holds a BA in African and African American Studies from the Washington University in St. Louis.
