Shannon Jordan is a Management & Program Analyst for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Health Equity (OHE) with over 20 years of service in the U.S. federal government focusing on health, equity, disparities, the environment, and workforce training and engagement. She previously served as a Scientific Merit Review Program Manager for the VA Office of Research and Development. Prior to joining the VA, Shannon worked as a chemical information specialist at the National Institutes of Health, National Library of Medicine (NLM) in Bethesda, MD where she specialized in the development of environmental health and toxicology databases to support research, policy, and public information.Shannon is also an entrepreneur who co-owns a coffee shop that is a community gathering place, serves other entrepreneurs, supports community supported agriculture, and hosts community organizations and events. She also volunteers with local non-profits that work on community health programs as her passion is educating the public to help eliminate health disparities and advance equity. She is a proud life member of the Prince George’s County Section of the National Council of Negro Women. Shannon received her Bachelor of Science in chemistry and Master of Public Health degrees from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
