Brenda Hughes is the Manager of Community Engagement for South Carolina’s Department of Health where she leads a team responsible for implementing policy, systems and environmental change to improve the quality of life in rural populations. She serves in a leadership role in multiple coalitions and collaborations across the state and nation to develop community capacity, build sustainable and equitable communities to address the root causes of inequities.

Brenda received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from High Point University and a Master of Public Health from Drexel University.
