Public Health Dentist & Associate Professor

Bio
Dr. Scott Howell is an Associate Professor and Director of Public Health Dentistry & Teledentistry at A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) and a clinical advisor for MouthWatch. His experiences with unique models of care prior to dental school in Michigan, during dental school, and then in his hospital residency at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, cultivated his passion for the development and implementation of non-traditional healthcare delivery models to decrease/eliminate barriers to care. In 2015, he returned to ATSU-ASDOH to develop the school’s first teledentistry program. Not only is he able to explore non-traditional models of healthcare delivery, but he also teaches future and current oral health providers about these models. He holds a DMD and an MPH from A.T. Still University. To further prepare for the everchanging world of public health, he completed a dental public health residency at UT Health San Antonio and became board certified in dental public health in 2020.Professional Interests & Expertise
