Claudia Vidal, MD, MSc
Researcher
Bio
Dr. Claudia Vidal is a Peruvian medical doctor and researcher whose work bridges public health, human development and intercultural health. She began her career serving as a physician and conducting research alongside Indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon, an experience that challenged her to look beyond biomedical frameworks alone and explore how different ways of knowing can inform more just and humane approaches to care.
This journey led her to pursue an MSc in International Health at the University of Oxford and subsequently join the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) as a researcher. In this role, she has led a research collaboration between OPHI, Partners in Health Peru, and the Belonging Forum to integrate multidimensional approaches to poverty and social connection into health programming.
Alongside her research, Claudia is a visual artist exploring art as a form of care — not only for the body and mind, but also for societies and systems.
