Adekemi Adeniyan ’19 developed the Anita Series book and website to teach children the importance of good oral hygiene. Through vibrant and engaging stories, the series helps kids understand the benefits of brushing and flossing and proper care for their teeth and gums.

Gloria Annette Aguirre ’23 leads Creative Minds, the San Francisco community arts initiative for brain health that engages older adults in underserved neighborhoods through photography, art, storytelling, movement and craft-making.

Danielle Woodhouse Johnson ’19 with her organization, The Oasis Alliance, created a food hub where families in need can "shop” for fresh foods that suit them instead of waiting in line to receive bags of canned food they cannot use. The Oasis Alliance involved local muralists to paint inspirational artwork throughout the hub and designed the space with a children’s nook and meeting areas.

Ginger Ramirez ’17 served as a co-investigator for the SOLACE partnership in the Philippines. This project brought together researchers from medicine, arts, and humanities to develop innovative ways to improve health in rural and remote communities. The collaboration featured a cultural animation workshop where participants created artistic, personal health diaries that the core research team analyzed.

Eliza Squibb ’19 collaborates with healthcare providers, artists, and artisans to create textile patterns that convey health information to populations with low literacy or language barriers, helping to improve equitable healthcare access.
