Bio

Jose González is a health economist and Senior Program Officer at Results for Development (R4D), where he leads global health financing and health system strengthening projects. Currently, he manages the Global Fund’s Financial Sustainability and Efficiency initiative in nine Latin American and Caribbean countries to strengthen HIV, TB, and malaria program sustainability.

He previously served as health financing lead for USAID’s Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases | East program, supporting governments in East Africa to design sustainability plans and mobilize domestic resources. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Colombian government on poverty reduction, food security, and early childhood development.

Jose holds a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and degrees in economics and industrial engineering from Los Andes University, Colombia. He is committed to elevating Latin American voices in regional and global health equity agendas.
