Bio

As a public health leader with over a decade of experience, Razel Nikka Hao has led transformative health system reforms at both national and regional levels. Her work bridges policy and implementation—strengthening governance, advancing evidence-based strategies, and ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare.

Currently serving as Regional Director of the Negros Island Region Center for Health Development, Razel oversee the strategic direction of public health programs, healthcare service delivery, and system-wide innovations. Previously, as Director of the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau, she spearheaded policy advancements that expanded primary care access and improved health outcomes across all life stages. She is also a faculty member at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, where she teaches Managerial Epidemiology, equipping future healthcare leaders with the skills to apply data-driven decision-making in health management.

Passionate about driving impactful change, Razel is committed to building resilient, equity-driven health systems that serve all communities. An Atlantic Fellow for Global Health Equity, she holds an MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing (LSE & LSHTM), an MD-MBA (ASMPH), and a BS in Psychology (UP Diliman).
