Dr. Maymunah Yusuf Kadiri, fondly known as “The Celebrity Shrink,” is a highly respected Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, and Mental Health Advocate with over two decades of experience. She is the Founder and Medical Director of Pinnacle Medical Services, a private mental health hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services and fostering emotional well-being for individuals, families, and organizations. Maymunah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Masters in digital healthcare from Barcelona Technology School & Universitat de Barcelona, and a Consultant Psychiatrist with the National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria.
Renowned for her relentless advocacy for mental health awareness in Africa, Maymunah is a trailblazer in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. As a Psychiatrist, she integrates clinical expertise with empathy and innovation, creating a platform that empowers people to prioritize their mental well-being. One of her most notable contributions is the creation of “The Mental Health Conference,” an annual event that brings together experts, stakeholders, and individuals to address pressing issues in normalizing mental health conversations. With themes like “The Mind Behind the Face” (2023) and “Identity: Who Are You?” (2024), the conference has become a beacon of hope and education for many.
Dr. Maymunah is also the co-founder of HOWBODI, a telemedicine platform that bridges the gap between mental health professionals and individuals seeking help. Through this initiative, she has made mental health services more accessible, particularly for people in remote areas where traditional mental health support is limited.
Maymunah is A Goldman Sachs scholar, Alumna of Vital Voices, Tony Elumelu Foundation, an Ashoka change maker and global thought leader.
