Shatyam Issur ’23 participated in a "Health through Equity, Equity through Health” panel at the C7 Summit, where he promoted inclusive governance that empowers marginalized communities through transparent, accountable systems that prioritize human rights and equal access to healthcare. He also called for an end to laws that criminalize HIV transmission, sex work, same-sex relations, and drug use, which contribute to public health burdens.

Mildred Omino ’20 highlights the unfair and unsafe conditions in urban areas that lack essential accessibility features like tactile marks, reserved parking, accessible toilets, and appropriate technology for the visually and hearing impaired. She stresses the importance of universal design, spatial justice, and active involvement of people with disabilities in urban development to foster equitable and just cities.

Christy Adeola Braham and Kuhika Seth, both from the 2023 cohort, are driving a major participatory research and advocacy project on worker health for WIEGO - Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing, conducting a series of workshops in Brazil and India as part of a five-year initiative with Co-Impact. The workshops aim to amplify the voices of workers in informal employment and build inclusive dialogues with key stakeholders to strengthen public health systems.
